We moved into our apartment in Manhattan on Saturday, September 14. We flew from Salt Lake City to Dulles Airport and stayed in Chantilly just long enough to see Ty and to get the things we needed for our mission from our storage unit. We rented a mini-van for a one way trip from Chantilly to NYC.
We live in the 2 Lincoln Square Apartments in New York City, the upper west side. Our address is: 60 W 66th Street, Apt. 5D, New York, NY 10023. The apartments are right next to the Manhattan Temple and are owned by the church. There are over 300 apartments in our building.
While we were shadowing Elder and Sister Taylor in NYC earlier in the month, we were able to ask the apartment staff about moving in to our apartment. They said that usually tenants reserve a parking spot in the garage next to our apartment building near the freight elevator and quickly move in that way. BUT that unfortunately, the freight elevator is under construction right now and that new tenants should just park their car in the front of the apartment building (there are NO “real” parking spaces in front of our building) and put their flashers on while they unload their car. Haha. I stressed about that for the entire 4 hour drive from Chantilly to NYC. When got to our apartment building, the entire block was blocked off for some type of road construction and the workers quickly and nicely moved the barriers for us so that we could park our rental van right where we needed to for a fast AND safe move-in experience. God is so good….we should never doubt him and His tender mercies.
Our apartment building rooftop. We are one block from Central Park.
Do you know the Nixon’s ye? Kem and Pat. Lovely people. I think they still work at the temple. Tell them Hi from me!
We have not met the Nixons but if we do, we will tell them “Hi” from the Daybells!
