Our long time friends from Chantilly, Virginia, George and Laura Landrith came to visit us in New York City and we all went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Central Park. I saw Elder Ulisses Soares, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at this exhibit. We were walking past this exhibit with our tour guide/group and I told Brian that over there was Elder Soares. He didn’t believe me and chuckled and I said, “Oh look, his wife is with him.” And Brian just laughed. (Elder Soares had on jeans and no tie etc.) I went over and took a picture of the exhibit and Elder Soares saw my name tag and shook by hand. I said, “Are you who I think you are?” Haha….I don’t know why I said that. Brian came and shook his hand too. Elder Soares said that his birthday was earlier in the month and they just now had time to celebrate. He said that he is in the city to attend a Stake Conference in the area. (Our Stake Conference was last week, so it is not our stake. We are in the New York, New York Stake.) We told him where we are from and what type of mission we are serving etc.
Great pics! I love Dad posing like George Washington!
Love the photos! Fun random encounter with Elder Soares!
