The church that houses the employment center, the Union Square building, is still being remodeled. They ran into a few problems that led to delays. The biggest problem was substandard plywood in the chapel. When they removed the old carpet the old plywood came with it, so they replaced it. They also need to move an HVAC unit in our offices to accommodate the fire marshall. Now, instead of being finished by Thanksgiving, it will be finished by Christmas (fingers crossed).
We had two appointments cancel today and we ended up being happy about it. A woman who works as a nanny stopped by because she was in the area and felt like she should come in. She received our attention and we were able to provide some significant help. God loves nannies, as He does anyone who is positively impacting the lives of little children, His children.
Read a quote I liked: The poet Elisabeth Elliot on courage: “Sometimes fear does not subside and one must choose to do it afraid.”
