July 2, 2025: Anne Frank Exhibition

A Full-Scale Recreation of Anne Frank’s hiding place

One day after working at the Employment Center, we walked a few blocks to the Center for Jewish History and were able to see the Anne Frank Exhibition. The Exhibition is in NYC temporarily. It is a a recreation of the Annex, where Anne Frank, her parents and sister, and four other Jewish inhabitants spent two years hiding to evade Nazi capture.

There were more than 100 original collection items from the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam.

I remember reading Anne Frank’s diary when I was in Junior High School. Her diary made a lasting impression on me. Reading about the scary and awful things she and her family went through made me feel deeply sad. It seemed a miracle that her father survived the concentration camps and that he was able to get her diary and publish it. Anne Frank’s Diary has been published in over 70 languages and they had over 50 copies of her book on display.
