George made good money in the field of finance in his past. His focus the past several years has been alternative energy capital markets. He is currently involved in a venture to recycle wind turbine blades, but having a difficult time attracting investors, so is looking for another job. He has been encouraged by my help with his resume, focus on networking, and helping him be productive by suggesting calendar blocking. I’ve also helped him know how to network using LinkedIn.
He was very excited to tell me about his experience earlier in the week. To make a little money while he’s searching, he drives Uber. One passenger he picked up to take to the airport chatted with him in the car. Turns out the passenger is a career coach who has a sub-specialty in alternative energy. He is planning to provide contacts who may be looking for someone specializing in alternative energy. George saw the hand of God in providing him this source of hope, whether it results in a job or not. George has much more pep in his step now.
The thought that came to my mind as George shared his experience was President Oaks talking about revelation: “We will get promptings of the Spirit when we have done everything we can, when we are out in the sun working rather than sitting back in the shade praying for direction on the first step to take.
