Oct 20, 2024 Trains, Buses, Taxis, just no car

We took two busses to the church on 87th Street near 3rd Avenue. We usually take the subway for most travel, but there is a bus that cuts through Central Park that is convenient and quick. Traveling by bus, we arrived in good time. The stake president, President Yamada, talked about temptation, comparing its destructive power to Chernobyl and how it can destroy slowly unless we repent. I liked his analogy–it sounds harsher than it was.

Coming home, we decided to take the bus again. We didn’t wait at all for the first bus, but waited almost 30 minutes for the second one before deciding it wasn’t coming. So, we took a taxi. We’ll have to do some more research on bus schedules. We’re getting used to not having a car. New York’s public transportation covers our needs so far very well.
