Brian and I were able to take a quick trip to Utah last week for the baby blessing of our grand-daughter, Chloe May. Chloe is a beautiful, sweet baby and it was such a lovely experience. Matt and his fiancé, Abbie, flew in from Las Vegas. And Jessica lives in West Jordan, so she was able to be there too! Staci’s parents, Jerry and Tara Oldroyd (from Cedar City, Utah) and a few of her siblings also attended the baby blessing. And Cole and Tracy came to the blessing and cousin Carolina and her husband Shad and their 2 sons, Baker and Logan were able to join us for lunch. After church, we all ate lunch at Jake/Staci’s house. Jake smoked some pork for pulled pork sandwiches and Staci made homemade sugar cookies with pink frosting and there were lots of side dishes to enjoy! (Chloe requested the pink sugar cookies.)
Brian and I stayed with my brother Cole and his wife, Tracy who moved a few months ago to Syracuse, Utah from Gilbert, Arizona. Syracuse is only about 10 miles from Jake and Staci’s house in Kaysville, Utah. We gave MJ and Mike and Chloe each a storybook about New York City and I think that we read each book to them at least 100 times while we were in town. I cried when we left those grandbabies to fly back to New York City, but we are glad to be back in the City doing our small part to gather Israel and to help others feel God’s love for them.
