Last Tuesday, we went to see The Outsiders at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Broadway. This has been my very favorite show! We sat in the middle of the third row and were able to see all of the actors facial expressions etc. The singing and dancing were amazing and we didn’t miss a thing. During one of the fight scenes, “fake” blood splashed on the people in the audience who were sitting in the middle of the first and second rows. At intermission, we talked to them. They said that they thought that the “fake” blood was corn syrup based and should wash out of their clothes. The girl in the middle of the row on the first row had it splashed on her face! At the curtain call, “Ponyboy” gave a signed copy of the Outsiders book to the girl who had “fake” blood splashed on her face. (Signed by the Broadway actors.) After he took his bows, he leaned down and handed her the book! He also looked upward and pointed up to heaven. (In the playbill he “thanked God” for the opportunity to perform in The Outsiders.)
